FAQs
JeppisNepal is a non-profit community organization in Jakobstad/Pietarsaari, Finland, founded by Nepali residents. We promote Nepali culture, organize sports activities, and host community events for people of all backgrounds.
It began in 2008 when Nepali students first came to Jakobstad for their studies. Initially, we connected through the FC JeppisNepal football club. Over time, we expanded into a full community organization.
Anyone is welcome — whether you are Nepali, Finnish, or from anywhere else. Our doors are open to students, families, sports lovers, and anyone interested in culture or community work.
We host sports events like football and volleyball matches, as well as cultural celebrations such as Bada Dashain, Nepali New Year, Teej, and children’s programs. We also organize table tennis tournaments and community volunteering.
We have over 300 people in our extended network, including students, families, and children. Some members have moved to other cities in Finland, such as Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku.
You can join our sports activities, volunteer at events, help with cultural celebrations, or offer your skills for community projects. Just reach out through our Facebook page Hami Nepali or speak to one of our members.
Currently, we keep participation flexible. Some events may have small entry or booking fees to cover venue and equipment costs, but joining the community is free.
Not at all! While we celebrate Nepali culture, JeppisNepal welcomes people from all backgrounds who want to share in our activities and community spirit.
The best way is to follow our Facebook page Hami Nepali, where we post all event details, announcements, and updates.
Yes, we take part in local volunteering, support community initiatives, and help our members when they are in need.
