Our Story

JeppisNepal’s story began in 2008, when the first Nepali students arrived in Jakobstad/Pietarsaari. Far from home, they found strength in coming together — sharing meals, traditions, and support. Over the years, this small group has grown steadily, with new students, families, and children joining each year. Today, our community includes over 300 members, with some now living in other Finnish cities such as Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku.

FC Jeppis Nepal Club

The heart of our organization was originally FC JeppisNepal, a football club formed to give Nepali residents a place to connect through sport. But as we grew, we realized the need for something more — a shared platform to celebrate our culture, promote friendship, and support one another in every aspect of life. That’s how JeppisNepal was born.

Hami Nepali

We are active online too — our Facebook page, Hami Nepali, keeps our community informed and connected. Through it, we share updates, announce events, and celebrate achievements. It’s our virtual gathering place, making sure no one feels left out.

Unity, Respect, and Service

Our values are rooted in unity, respect, and service. We work to preserve Nepali traditions while also embracing the Finnish culture that is now part of our lives. By doing so, we help both cultures grow richer and stronger through mutual understanding.

JeppisNepal is about people — our shared laughter during festivals, our competitive spirit in sports, and our willingness to volunteer when our community needs us. We are more than an organization; we are a family.
